Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal data we process when you use the bistrology.hu website or contact us by e-mail or phone.

2. When you contact us
When you e-mail or call us, we process your name, your contact details and the content of your message.
Purpose: to answer your enquiry, for example about a table booking or an event.
Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). For bookings or quotes, the steps taken before entering into a contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Retention: 1 year after your enquiry is closed, or until you ask us to delete your data.
3. Cookies and measurement
When you first open the site, you choose in the cookie banner which cookies to allow. You can change your choice at any time with the "Cookie settings" button on the left edge of the page.
a) Essential cookies
The site cannot work without these: they keep page loading secure and remember your cookie settings. They are set by Wix and cannot be switched off.
Legal basis: they are technically necessary to provide the service, so no consent is required.
b) Analytics cookies: Wix statistics
These load only if you allow them. They show how many visitors arrive, where they come from and what they look at. We look at the data in aggregate and do not use it to identify individuals.

Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
c) Marketing (advertising) cookies: Meta Pixel
These load only if you allow them. They help us measure how many people visit the site from our ads on Facebook and Instagram, so we can also show our ads to people who have already visited.
In this case your browser sends event data to Meta, for example the page viewed, clicks (directions, phone number, e-mail address), browser and device information, and your IP address.
Provider: Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd. (Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Ireland). For the collection and transmission of this data, Meta is our joint controller. Meta is responsible for any further use under its own privacy policy.
Legal basis: your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
Retention: the Meta cookie (_fbp) stays in your browser for up to 90 days.
d) Google Maps
When the Google map at the bottom of the page loads, Google receives your IP address and technical data about your browser.
Provider: Google Ireland Ltd.
e) Social media
The Facebook, Instagram and TikTok icons are simple links. These providers receive data only if you click an icon and go to their site.
4. Who has access to the data (processors and recipients)
Wix.com Ltd. (40 Namal Tel Aviv St., Tel Aviv, Israel): website hosting and operation, the cookie banner and basic visitor statistics.
Gastro Management Kft. (1117 Budapest, Baranyai utca 7. 3. em. 3., Hungary): our online marketing partner, which manages our advertising and analytics accounts on our behalf and on our instructions.
Meta Platforms Ireland Ltd.: for the measurement and advertising purposes described in section 3.
Google Ireland Ltd.: to run the embedded map.
Authorities: where required by law.
We do not sell your data or pass it on for any other purpose.
5. Transfers outside the European Union
Google and Meta may also transfer data to the United States. Both companies participate in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Israel, where Wix is based, provides an adequate level of data protection according to a decision of the European Commission.
6. Your rights
You can ask us to:

give you your data in a machine-readable format (portability);

stop processing your data (objection).
You can withdraw your consent at any time. This does not affect the lawfulness of processing before the withdrawal. For cookies, use the "Cookie settings" button.
We will reply to your request within one month at the latest.
7. Complaints
If you feel we have violated your rights, write to us at hello@bistrology.hu. You can also lodge a complaint with the Hungarian National Authority for Data Protection and Freedom of Information (NAIH, 1055 Budapest, Falk Miksa utca 9-11., postal address: 1363 Budapest, Pf. 9., www.naih.hu), or go to court.
